The Easy Reading project was carried out as part of the Project Work with the Non-Economic and Non-Profit Sector – Student Innovative Projects for Social Benefit 2016–2018. The project was led by the University of Maribor, Faculty of Education, in partnership with the non-profit organization Risa, Center for General, Functional, and Cultural Literacy. The project ran from June 1, 2017, to September 30, 2017, with ten students from five first- and second-cycle study programs participating: Inclusion in Education, Classroom Teaching, Preschool Education, Art Education, and Slovenian Language and Literature.
Texts about Slovenian places were prepared by Polonca Brumen, Sergeja Cilenšek, Mateja Čeh, Sara Gačnik, Tanisa Jahić, Nina Kramberger, Kaja Pšeničnik, Sanja Sovič, Nina Volčanjk, and Sanja Vreča.
Pedagogical mentors: Prof. Dragica Haramija (project leader) and Doc. Marta Licardo, University of Maribor, Faculty of Education.
Expert collaborator: Saša Fužir, Risa, Center for General, Functional, and Cultural Literacy.
The texts were reviewed at the Polž Maribor Care and Work Center (VDC), units in Ruše, Lenart, Maribor, and Slovenska Bistrica (work supervised by Nataša Hiter Ravnjak, Sabina Petek, Andreja Mudri, and Gordana Mešić), and at the Center for Training, Work, and Protection in Črna na Koroškem (CUDV; work supervised by Saša Fužir).
We prepared texts about those Slovenian towns where a CUDV or VDC is located.
