The application and selection procedure for enrolment in the first year of undergraduate and integrated master’s degree programmes in Slovenia has remained unchanged since its introduction in 1995, but has not yet been comprehensively analysed. The project analyzes the current application and selection procedure, evaluates it, and analyzes its effects on the academic performance of accepted candidates in higher education and later on the labor market. The current application and selection procedure for selecting candidates is predominantly based on their academic performance in secondary school and their high school graduation exam results, and in some cases also on aptitude tests. The project examines whether the application and enrollment procedure should be designed to take into account all candidates’ achievements and potential. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tina Vršnik Perše is participating in the project on behalf of UM PEF.
