Entitled

RETHINKING CHILDHOOD III

TEACHING FOR AN INCLUSIVE, TECHNOLOGICALLY COMPETENT AND SUSTAINABLE SOCIETY

that will take place on October 4, 2024 at the Faculty of Education in Maribor.

With the conference, we wish to encourage the exchange of expert opinions and current initiatives among all educational system stakeholders for the development of education in perspective of the reform efforts anticipated between 2022 and 2026.  We think it is vital that students, educators, teachers, researchers and other professionals who work in education actively participate in the discussion. This is the most effective way of securing the necessary support for all the necessary changes.

The rapid advancement of technology also raises the question of the future of education. The social circumstance of modern era compels us to consider the actualization of educational work at the organizational and systemic level. Along with innovations in the field of organization and financing of education, we also need to consider new solutions at the implementation level across the entire educational vertical.

One of the indicators of a person’s quality of life is the possibility of their participation in ongoing education and creation. An effective and high-quality education system is a requirement for properly preparing a person for successful work, a fulfilling life, and social engagement. The task of the education system is developing skills, abilities and knowledge for life and work, promoting of global and lifelong learning, empowering people to use the latest technologies and raising awareness of the importance of physical and mental health. Creativity, innovation, critical thinking, and sense of responsibility must form the foundation of modern educational systems.
